Our name
There’s a bit of a long story behind our Flynns Table name. If you ask, I’ll tell you one day. But I’ve written about this place in my journals since 1996, the year my daughter, Emily, was born. Yet, I never really had a name for this place. My vision was for an establishment that connected people in a more communal way where we served coffee and inspired good conversation—-but again, it never had a name. I’d scribbled down names here and there —most involved the word “house.” Then one night, I woke out of a sound sleep and the name Flynns Table was born. I prayed that the domain was available. How do I buy a domain? That was over10 years ago when I purchased the Flynns domain. Flynn is a family name (with a bigger story behind it) and Table just fits effortlessly. Everything happens at a table. Family meals, business meetings, poker nights, game nights, study groups, book clubs, coffee chit-chats, college planning, committee meetings, board meetings, afternoon tea, support groups, and so much more. I see many wonderful things happening at our tables at Flynns. One day we’ll get there…stay tuned.
