So here we go, y'all.  Mischief Managed:  Episode Five

Pura Vida Compass Ring

Isn't' this adorable?  It's the perfect little ring loaded with underlying meaning.  At least for me, anyway.  I bought three:  one for Em, Lela, and me.  It's available in two hammered-metal finishes, gold and sterling silver.  And you know how I'm a sucker for companies focused on social good? Founded in Costa Rica, Pura Vida provides sustainable jobs to artisans worldwide and raises awareness for charities with products that give back.  It started with bracelets.

Up & Vanished.

OK so maybe you've already listened to this podcast...I was a little late to the party on this one since it first aired in August 2016.  But it's good and binge-worthy.  Up & Vanished is an investigative podcast which started as a crime documentary exploring the 2005 unsolved disappearance of 30-year old, Tara Grinstead from the small town of Osilla, Georgia.  And as Payne Lindsey starts his amateur detective work and interviews the people of Ocilla, new leads and evidence turn this cold case hot.  This little investigative podcast led to the arrest of two people in February 2017.  Well done, Payne.

Atlanta Monster.

Another binge-worthy podcast from the same investigative podcaster, Payne Lindsey.  I actually listened to this one before Up & Vanished.  I would sit in my car longer than I needed with this one.  It got me.  This true-crime podcast relives the horrific crimes from 1979 to 1981, when at least 28 children, almost all black boys from poor neighborhoods, went missing or were found dead.  This story is so sad and infuriating.  But it's a story that needs to be told and heard.  Payne is a great storyteller.  I got Emily hooked on it too.  She said she cried listening to the episode when one-by-one, they read off the names of all the dead or missing boys.  Me too, Em.

Quip Toothbrush.

OK so maybe I'm late to this party too.  And I'm sure you've seen the million-and-one ads for this little subscription-based toothbrush.  But, you guys. I love it.  I love the sleek rose-gold design that times my brushing for two minutes and pauses after every 30 seconds signaling me to move to a different section of my mouth.  And most of all I love that it comes with its own holder for me to stick on the inside of my medicine cabinet. BONUS.  I even made a little video of my refill.  I decided not to torture you with my annoying voice and instead bless you with an audio overlay of G. Love & Jack Johnson.

Phone Wallet.

Maybe this shows my age but this little gem has changed the way I travel.  When I'm making quick trips to the store or picking up the kids, this is all I take with me.  It's totally freeing y'all.  Sure, I still lug my purse around sometimes but my purse has way too much crap in it that I rarely use.  You too?  Yeah, so when I can, I leave the purse behind and take this little guy with me loaded with my phone, my license, and credit card.  It's a steal at $26.99.  The packaging is classy and moves it into the definite potential gift column for Mother's Day.  Also, this is my second time buying this wallet.  The first one lasted me almost two years before the leather just looked too worn.  I was excited to try to find a new and different phone wallet.  My online search spawned the course of hours and days, and everything I considered was either too expensive, had horrible reviews, or didn't come in the iPhone size I needed.  So yep!  I bought this wallet for a second time and I'm just as thrilled as the first time.

Thanks for reading y'all!  Now go tell all your friends and your friends friends.
